Dan Hoffler launched Armada Hoffler in 1979, creating a business culture and vision that vaulted the Company into a premier East Coast commercial real estate development, construction and asset management firm. Mr. Hoffler established a corporate ethos founded on integrity, trust and civic responsibility and captained the Company’s initial public offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2013. He remains active in strategic operations and currently serves as Executive Chairman Emeritus of our board of directors. 

Daniel Hoffler Jr is a Virginia native and graduated from Hampden Sydney College with a bachelor’s in Economics. Daniel comes by real estate honestly, with his father being in the business for over 50 years.

His senior year of college he founded his company which started out as an excavation

and earth moving company, but has now evolved into a commercial real estate development company with a primary focus on light industrial and multi family developments. Daniel is the managing partner of The Hoffler family’s farming operations in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. Daniel sits on the board of directors for multiple Virginia based organizations, as well as some out of state.

Clay Bales is a Partner and the companies Development Director. He received a B.A. in Economics & Business from Hampden-Sydney College and a Masters In Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University. Clay began his career in DC working for Hilton Hotels  focusing on the ground up development of hotels across the country. He most recently worked in Private Equity at a family office in Denver, CO. Clay and his wife Sally reside in Norfolk, VA with their two dogs. They enjoy any chance that they get to head West to go skiing, hiking or visit with their friends in the Rockys.
